Summary:
We are currently recruiting for Structural Design Engineers with design experience on offshore structures like drill ships, jack-ups, FPSO hulls, semi-submersibles, pipe-laying vessels, offshore windmill-installation vessels and crane vessels.
Description:
Keys responsibilities · Design, and review designs of the structural components of the Client's products. · Basic design such as preliminary design, layout, stability, foundations, construction, motion · Identify and write specifications for the structural aspects applicable to the Client's products. · Perform finite element analyses on critical structural components and apply the results to the design. · Use the appropriate software for analyses, calculations and design aids. · Perform calculations verifying the integrity of structural designs. · Recommend and follow all quality assurance and safety factors/requirements applicable to the design of structures. · Identify and recommend structural inspection requirements on projects. · Liaise with classification societies and other regulatory bodies involved with the safety, integrity and legality of the Company's structures.
Qualifications / Requirements · Candidates should be educated to MSc or Degree level in Naval Architecture / Structural Engineering. · Successful Structural Engineers must have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in similar position and for Senior positions a minimum of 10 years relevant experience · Knowledge of Finite Element software (e.g. FEMAP, NASTRAN, STAAD PRO) and Mathcad would be an advantage. · Familiarity with classification society rules (Lloyd’s, DNV and ABS) and design codes is also preferred. · Willing to travel. · Good knowledge of the English language, both spoken and written.
